The Steinbach-Hallenberg Metal Craft Museum is one of the facilities of the Zweckverband Kultur des Landkreises Schmalkalden-Meiningen. The museums Schloss Wilhelmsburg in Schmalkalden, Hochofenmuseum Neue Hütte and the Finstertal visitor mine in Asbach are also part of the association.
