Museum Director: Dr. Tanja König

Personal details: Dr. Tanja König was born in 1987 in Schmalkalden (Thuringia). She studied literature and history with a focus on medieval regional history at the University of Erfurt. There she wrote her doctoral thesis on the religious commitment of the medieval Thuringian noble family of the Lords of Lobdeburg. 

After working as a research assistant at the University of Erfurt, the center of her life shifted to Leipzig, where she worked as a teacher of German and history. 

Since October 2022, she took over the management of the Metal Craft Museum in Steinbach-Hallenberg.
